Blueprint Calc

Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 2026-04-25

Blueprint Calc is supported by affiliate commissions, lead-generation referrals, and (eventually) display advertising. This page explains how each works, so you know exactly what is happening when you click a link on this site.

How affiliate links work

Some links on Blueprint Calc — specifically the "Buy at Home Depot" or "Buy at Lowe's" buttons in each calculator's shopping list — are affiliate links. When you click one and later make a qualifying purchase, the retailer pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price as if you had gone to the retailer's site directly. The price is not marked up to cover the commission.

We only link to retailers and products we believe are genuinely useful for the job the calculator is solving. We do not get paid to show a specific product over another, and we do not receive free product from any retailer.

Specific programs we participate in

  • Amazon Associates — Blueprint Calc is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
  • Home Depot affiliate program via Impact Radius — we earn a commission on qualifying referrals.
  • Lowe's affiliate program via Impact Radius — same.
  • Angi Leads / HomeAdvisor / Modernize — lead-generation referrals for higher-ticket projects (decks, concrete slabs, roofing, windows). When you request quotes through a CTA on this site, the partner pays us a referral fee regardless of whether you actually hire a contractor.

Display advertising

We may serve display advertising (Google AdSense, Mediavine, or a comparable network) on some pages. Ad networks use their own cookies and pixels per their own privacy policies. When display ads are live we will update the privacy policy and surface consent notices for visitors in the EU, UK, and California.

Editorial independence

Retailers and ad networks do not influence the content of this site. Calculators use standard industry formulas, FAQ answers cite published codes and manufacturer specs where possible, and we flag when a claim is opinion rather than documented fact. If you think any page overstates the case for a particular product, let us know and we will fix it.
